Welcome to my web home! I am currently based at Massachusetts General Hospital, where I am a resident physician in internal medicine and a member of the Stanbury physician-scientist program. I earned my MD in the Program in Health Sciences and Technology at Harvard/MIT and my PhD in immunology at Harvard under the supervision of Diane Mathis and Christophe Benoist. In my thesis work, I discovered a new class of cells in the thymus, termed mimetic cells, that mimic cell types from throughout the body to generate immunological self-tolerance in T cells. The dysregulation or absence of these cells can lead to autoimmunity. Previously, I worked with David Schatz at Yale, studying the molecular mechanisms that B cells use to generate high-affinity antibodies. Broadly speaking, I am interested in adaptive immunity, self-tolerance and its dysregulation in immune-mediated diseases.
